First-generation Trailblazers

Getting accepted and starting college is a significant achievement. As you embark on this journey, we’re here to provide guidance, encouragement, and recognition every step of the way. Based in the Center for Access and Success, First-Generation Student Support Services collaborates closely with first-generation college students to assist them in reaching their graduation goals.

At Utah Tech University, a student is classified as a first-generation college student if neither of their parent(s) or legal guardian(s) has obtained a bachelor’s degree (a four-year degree). Even if a sibling has already completed a four-year college degree, the student is still considered a firstgeneration college student.
